A handful of new rugs arrived on our doorstep from Peru the other day. Those interested in checking them out should head to the Bracken Ridge Rugs (47-49), before moving onto the South Portland page to view number #65. As with all the Morris Etc. rugs, these are handwoven from 100% wool, one-of-kind creations possessing real pop. If you’d like to see them up close, ring Brett at 347.227.7244 to arrange an appointment.

Heading Back to Cuzco

With business ticking over nicely thanks to great customer support, it now seems inevitable that we’ll be making another run down to the Peruvian highlands town of Cuzco. We’ve marked the first week in October as our likely departure window, and before then we’d love to hear from our customers on pretty much everything and anything – from preferred rug styles to travel tips to new product suggestions… we’re all ears. While down there we’ll also be hoping to clear up the custom rugs and runners situation, so those looking to create their own designs from a stunning choice of colors and designs, stay tuned… resolution is nigh.

The Week’s Most Viewed

The South Portland Rug 09Looking through our rugs this past weekend we thought it might be nice to feature one, still unsold, that’s garnered the most page views over the past week. This honor goes to The Surrey Hills 05, an exquisite mix or color crafted in a classic Peruvian design that’s sure to please the eye.

Now that we’ve been up and running for a few weeks, people have begun asking us where the names of the MorrisEtc. rugs come from. Well, in this case the rug is named for our favorite Sydney suburb Surrey Hills, a place we spent a year some time ago that still holds many special memories.

Surrey Hills is also home to the city’s best café, Kawa, run by the unstoppable Meg Hewitt serving the best coffee in Sydney, and a chicken meatball sandwich that’ll soon have you planning immigration. Be sure to stop in if you’re headed down that way.
